Slavery is alive and well. Sad story. But true. It's in a different form and lives under the radar but it's there... ever present... and you're probably victim to it.
I'm not talking shackles and chains type of slavery. I'm talking a about modern day version with an arguably broader reach. I'm talking about the slavery within the system.

coaching.
A good coach is a valuable commodity.
Coaching in not managing. It's not appraising. It's not dictating; preaching; or commanding. Coaching is about nurturing someone. Helping them be the best they can be, while allowing them to shape themselves rather than moulding them in your own image.
Why am I talking about coaching today? Well, fresh out of a "Leader as a Coach" course at work, it's today's hot topic.

loyalty.
Alongside love and trust, loyalty is an incredibly important ingredient in a relationship. All relationships: romantic; friendship; family. If you don't have loyalty you have nothing. If you're not willing to stand by those closest to you, you should prepare to stand alone.
My heart was broken a little today. Someone who I considered a friend turned their back and walked away. They turned their back on everything.

momentum.
It's what successful people have.
Those that keep pushing. That keep plugging away.
Those that have a vision and the determination to win hands down. Those that see failure as a minor setback and not the end of the journey. Those that can always see room for improvement but never let small details prevent the delivery.
They're the ones that succeed.

friendship.
I met a man yesterday who explained his daily life to me with a grin on his face.
He said he gets into work bright and early and holds catch up meetings with his friends/co-workers, where they give each other open and honest feedback about how things are going like only good friends can.
He then had a day full of interactions with customers that loved his products and services and by association loved him too.

a mission.
Determination.
That's the name of the game.
Lately I've been inspired by so much of what I've seen. Of the things I've read. On talks I've witnessed. News I've watched. Conversations I've had. And this inspiration has left me feeling determined.
Determined to do things differently. To make changes to both my life and to the lives of those around me. To achieve by working smarter and not harder. To gain more and miss less. To be content. To be happy.
